Mosoni Danube is a protected side branch of the Danube. It is 20-60 meters wide, winding mainly on the upper part. It is one of the most excellent locations for canoeing tours in Hungary. The landscape is diverse; we pass by beautiful forests and great fields, beaches with atmosphere. We spend two nights on an island!

The daily distance is not exhausting, so we will have enough time for the afternoon games: war of numbers, water fights and splashing. Sunbathing during the day, then making fire, playing the guitar or talking in the evenings. The Killer Game goes on!
The river is free from floods; the riverbank is pebbly and the campsites are very nice. There are many exciting islands and grassy riversides, which are the scenes of lunch and fun.
The fauna is unique: beavers, lutras, herons, egrets and thousands of ducks nest by the water.
Speciality: we will make a short detour from the Danube and go sightseeing by canoe to Mosonmagyaróvár; We'll park the canoes 100m from the centre!

Travelling to the start happens individually or with the group. If you want to arrive at the starting point of the tour by yourself, please meet us in the bus stop in Bezenye, at 13.15 PM. Most of us will travel to Bezenye by train (and bus from Mosonmagyaróvár combined) anyway - this is the most convenient way. Please let us know about it on the application form so that we can purchase your tickets in advance if you wish. We are leaving at around 8.30 AM from one of the main railway stations of Budapest.
The price does not include the train tickets, which is an expected 6000 HUF (20 Euro), 3000 HUF/12 Euro with EU + Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland student cards. (Student cards, which gives you discount: with your name written, handed out by an educational institution, with the name and centre of the institution and validity. Student IDs handed out by student organizations or travel agencies are invalid!
In case you are vegan or vegetarian state it in the online application form. We can reduce the price with 7000 HUF/ 24 Euro and state it as a remark then it won’t include food, but we don’t recommend this option. We can supply you with meat-free food.

We have planned this tour to be really relaxing and fun for you. The focus is not on the physical performance but on spending time together with old and new CouchSurfer friends and having FUN.
No preliminary training is needed for participation.
