Kőrösmezey Julianna

If you asked me what a wonderful day looks like for me, I would say something like this: I get up in the morning, when the sun is shining on my tent, I run into the river with my crumpled face, I cool off, I take a deep breath, and I am infinitely grateful. Slowly everyone starts to wake up, I stretch a few more, the small bowls appear, the muesli-seeking eyes appear, the cap clicks on the milk carton, the camp creaks sleepily, we prepare the canoes, pack and set off. The oar splashes, the water drips on the paddle, the sun warms our backs, I cool my forehead with a wet cloth. Harmony develops, old stories emerge, and slowly everyone arrives. Shoulders are tired, attention is waning, we arrive at a quiet campsite, the canoe creaks on the sand. The kettle, the potato peeler, the ball, the guitar appear, and the fire starts. The mosquitoes come, but the mosquito repellent wins, and the mood calms down. The logs are collected, we tear up from the onions, we cook dinner together. The fire is already crackling, the potatoes are sizzling, they circle around the fire with curious eyes. Red juicy faces, calmness, sunset, the weather cools down a bit, the favorite is a hoodie, we rest. Everyone lived well, this is the first night, the fire is burning, we talk, someone always jokes, you tell your story. There are many such days in the summer. When it needs to be cheerful, when it needs to be thought-provoking. Sometimes it cheers you up and sometimes it makes you tired. It's often difficult, and it often makes it easier later. Nature, endless calm, something in common, something whose memory accompanies you all year round. This is what rowing means to me.

The rest of the year, I study to become a physiotherapist, massage babies and non-babies, cook delicious meals when I can, light candles and read, and learn Norwegian. I try to get to know what interests me, I like to live healthy, to show others the joy of sports and nature.
