Tamás Pardy

I am Tamás Pardy. Sport is an essential part of my life. Although being a university student I do not always have enough time to train I try to do it as often as possible. I used to not like exercising this much. In my primary school years my parents made me take up basketball. Half a year later I started swimming. On trainings in Újpest I learned how to behave comfortably in water. After moving from Újpest I took up karate, I train currently as the member of Budai XI SE. This is where I met Zsolt and with him, the other guides as well.

I sometimes play football, basketball, roller-skate, and I used to bicycle a lot. I never cared if it rained or if there was heat because the feeling of freedom given by speed made up for tiredness. This is quite similar to what I felt during the first canoe tour in my life. The pleasant company made me feel even more out of everyday life. I do think that this is the very reason why adults do sports and a great canoe tour is especially good for relaxing.

Today's pupils are completely robbed of the pleasure of exercising because the school P.E. classes are obligatory and monotonous. It is important for everyone to be able to try different kinds of sport that they feel like. My younger brother has recently taken part of a canoe tour and at last I can see he is getting stronger, not mentioning all the exciting experiences for him. By the way, I have three younger siblings which means I do have some experience in handling children.
